I’m having the same feeling. I matched with someone who has written a hundreds of fics and has like 200 gift fics on their ao3 and I already know I’m not going to live up to that

Ask through the mods? I've only had someone DNW one third of the plot before, which meant I chose to write fic about the characters they wanted that didn't have anything to do with that plotline for fear of accidentally mentioning something, but if it's the entire plot, that's a bit WTF.

I feel like such an idiot... I just looked over my signup on AO3 again, and realized that I'd missed a comma midway through my list of DNWs, changing two list items into one: "... a/b/o, character death, ..." became ".... a/b/o character death, ...."

It's written correctly in my letter, but now I'm wondering if this is going to come back to bite me in the ass. I don't want any character death, not just character death that comes from a/b/o, especially since one of my requests involves a character whose fate is not entirely certain at the end of the show. Should I contact the mods? Is this something they can help me clarify? Or am I being overly litigious?

Are you equally in favour of all your picks, or there certain fandoms/prompts/etc. you're hoping for most? Are there things you picked just because you had to complete your entry? Are there things you regret picking and now you hope they don't write it?

I was going through the fandoms I like well enough to treat but didn’t want to offer, and noticed that someone whose work I really like signed up for something tiny that I don’t think I can pull off. Next year, once I have done some research, I may have to add it to my signups.

I don't understand why, if getting a Yuletide gift was that important to them and warranted this kind of drama, they didn't check the sign up close time and make sure they had it right. Or use the countdown clock. Or pay attention to any of the dozen times someone on the Yuletide server mentioned "signups closing in X amount of time" over the last couple of days.

Unrelated, but their DNW ordering of "first person, vore, bdsm" reads like a prompt bingo to my mind. First person vore BDSM. I'm gonna be thinking about how to make this work for one of my ships all day.

...if you got a fic which was exactly what you'd asked for but was only around 1000 words? My recip has a prompt that I can write to, but it's short and there's not much I can add to it.
