I used to feel like that, until I decided to go for broke one year and nominate something really obscure that there was zero existing fic of anywhere, and then made a very specific prompt, and against all odds that was the one I was matched on AND the thing written went above and beyond my prompt. I loved it so much that now I try to put in one "dream request" that I think will never happen, and get a little excited by the idea of it possibly being written (even though it hasn't since haha).
