My main: Exactly the person I hoped to match to when I offered this fandom because I liked their letter the best. I know 3 of their 6 fandoms, 2 of which I offered. Their last one is a canon I've thought about watching with prompts so good I probably will now. I may actually end up writing 3-4 fics for this person before I move on to my regular treating spree!

Sock: I know 3 of their fandoms and while their prompts aren't the most inspiring, they aren't by any means bad and they benefit from being fandoms where people had much more detailed/inspiring (to me) letters. I need to decide if I want to write for the smaller/rarer or their ships or the one where I can deliver all their niche narrative/sexual kinks...

No letter and matched on only one fandom. But they're very clear about having a wide variety of likes, few DNWs, and I've been interested in a couple of their other fandoms that are pretty short, so I've got backups if I blank on our match.

Requested two characters...and a period of canon where they have not met. With a single line that basically just says "X period, please."

I was prepared to write gen between these two characters even though I ship them, and would have been very happy to do so, because I just find their interactions fascinating. And I was prepared (though less excited) to write a character study of one of them if I matched on only one. But this I was not expecting. I think I've already figured out how to make it work, but it's definitely not the most interesting part of canon for me.

Eh. More time for treats and/or writing for a different December exchange I'm more excited about, I guess. This is my first year doing a lot of exchanges, and it definitely makes Yuletide feel less ~important~, so a disappointing assignment isn't the end of the world.

They wrote paragraphs of prompts for their other five fandoms but one very vague sentence for the one that we matched on. Thankfully it’s for a fandom that a lot of my friends are into so I’ll just bug a friend for a prompt and write that but it’s always a little upsetting to match on the fandom that was clearly added on at the end just because it’s something yuletide popular

I didn’t specifically game for my recipient but they were the only letter visible of my potential matches and I’m so glad I got them. Now I just have to dig up my old half written ideas and make them a real thing.

Blank signup from someone who usually posts letters, but it's obvious what kind of thing they like, it's a five-minute fandom where I was expecting vague prompts anyway, and they're a great commenter. I can work with this.

my recip's letter is very very vague. it's their first year doing this, i think, which - on the one hand, i feel you. on the other, i don't know what you want and i am an ANXIOUS writer

Lucky! Literally 4 out of 4 fandoms that I can easily write or wrote these exact characters for previous yuletides or wanted to request this year. Same likes in porn and megafandom ships, they even recently commented on my fic. Very clear letter, we’re onto a great start here.

OMG, I matched on the person I wanted to match, for whom I had already started to write because I got inspired by their letter. Without any gaming. This has never ever happened to me before.

Frankly, RL has been kind of shit the past two years, so if the universe wants to make up for it with a decent Yuletide assignment, I will take it.

I really feel like my idea is something the recip will like, so that makes me happy too.

Now I just have to dig through the letters for one or two people to treat.

My halfhearted attempts at gaming my sign-up didn't work, unsurprisingly (see: "halfhearted"), but I got a perfectly doable letter that seems quite interested in any porn I may slip in for this canon m/m movie, and with any luck I can both give them a good gift and also write some porn for the other canon m/m movie fandom I'm super interested in. So all's well that porns well.

I got one of the letters I've already bookmarked in the app. The request is really cute and partially responsible for me realizing how much I'd like to write this pairing. I have too many ideas bouncing around right now to have a concrete direction for the assignment, but I hope I land on something they enjoy.

I got someone I treated last year and loved writing for, but they have a new fandom on their list that sounds really enticing. I'm feeling really good, and I like to write what they like to read, so this is exciting.

5 fairly bonkers requests and our match which I can definitely write. I’m feeling my age, though, because I remember when it was kind of Not Done to request explicit/kinky things in the signup itself (fortunately I like writing smut but someone else might have freaked).

I matched on a fandom for which I was already writing a fic that will match the prompt. It's about three-quarters finished, just needs an ending and some polishing up. Yuletide will be easy for me this year!
