My favorite part is where they request Birds of Prey fic for the comics but then say they're only familiar with the characters in the upcoming movie.

And they didn't request any characters so could easily have matched with someone who offered just comics characters. I came here specifically to complain about this because I'm so outraged.

None of the characters they mention were nominated under BoP. Of the characters they actually could have requested only Dinah is in the movie and they never mentions Dinah once.

They did the same thing with Umbrella Academy. Only the comic books are nominated. And they keep talking about wanting to see more of Dave, especially Jewish!Dave, except Dave isn't actually a character in the comic books, he only appears in the Netflix show. Whether he's meant to be Jewish or not, who knows, but he is an unnominated character in an unnominated (because ineligible) fandom.

Even then though, hard to write something that will make her happy without yourself breaking YT rules by writing in a fandom that is not eligible. I don't know the other fandom, maybe it is appropriate?

They don't check every assignment, but his is in the letter not the sign-up, and I can see how, if you're not familiar with the canons, it would be superficially fine. I didn't notice the problems with Umbrella Academy or WWDITS despite being annoyed by the BOP request, for example. This is why mods have to rely on complaints. But I agree it's egregious.
