Two things, I'm starting to think, because I can't pick. It's possible this pair of rivals is going to both a) dubcon-hatesex each other ... a few times ... until they catch feelings by the close of the canon, AND b) slow-burn their way to mutual pining that resolves itself post-canon as tropily as possible.
