I've gotten non-recip kudos and comments on all the stories, and we're still in the anon period, so I'm not rending my clothes over it or anything, but I am bemused! Recipient asked for girl!Character in one of their prompts, and the person wrote trans girl!Character. The recipient did not DNW trans identities.

Normally when people ask for a sex swap I assume they mean the cisgender equivalent. It is problematic but I just feel like this is what people mean. Is that a fair assumption?

I feel like this is trying to goad and start wank, because there is no context provided for the fandom or the work, but I'll bite:

I think girl!character refers to female!character and I would be unhappy to receive a trans interpretation of such a prompt. The experiences of a trans character and a female character would be different in most canons. I personally have a trans DNW which should also cover this.

Loved the story I got for Yuletide, it's long and iddy and my author clearly put a lot of effort into it but it is also objectively kind of crap with multiple spag issues and glaring canonical errors. It's massively trailing the other fic in the fandom because I'm the only one to comment and kudos and I am so worried my author will realise it's a bit shit but I liked it and I meant what I said in my comment!

I really don't get how people don't at least run a spellcheck on their stuff before they push the upload button. Even if you don't want a beta, or can't get one in time, spellcheck programs are always available. Hell, even DW puts the red crawl under any typos (and under DW, lol).

I made it through both collections, made my comment aim of posting at least 50 comments, posted some recs, got a comment from someone not my recipient on the madness fic I thought nobody else would care about and the hits just made double figures, feels like a yuletide win this year.

my partner wrote many fics for yuletide, three of which were pretty highly commented and given as gifts for the same person... I am looking forward to seeing the recip figure out that all three of those gifts were one author. Also, some of my partner's fandom friends left enormous glowing comments all unawares, so...
