The Lore Olympus role reversal AU looked really interesting, but there's nothing that makes it specifically a Lore Olympus fic rather than a run-of-the-mill Hades/Persephone fic. Disappointing.

I'm guessing the 13,000 word Sleeping Beauty fic. He did something similar with Snow White last year (I didn't finish either story, but based on what I saw of both, they're long, rambling, include random pop culture references, and involve bizarre post-canon adventures), and I seem to recall that one of his more infamous offerings was Disney centric as well.

Why does one of mine have two subscriptions and four private bookmarks? It's only T-rated, and it's done.

I think maybe some people keep all their bookmarks private? There are private bookmarks on some of my fics, including some that are G-rated gen.

Same thing for subscriptions. I've got subscribers on a few of my fics, even though all my fics are complete and none are even multi chapter. I can only assume some people are using the "subscribe" feature as another way to bookmark (you can get to the fics easily from your dashboard), or that these are people who don't really understand how AO3 works.

Similar premise and characters, different lengths and details. I'd think "writer accidentally uploaded 2 drafts" or "2 writers read the same letter and were both inspired by a prompt with these details" - except they're for different recips.

Not putting this under the Coal thread because they both seem like fine, charming stories. It's just weirding me out and I don't know where else to say so.

I went and looked at the recips' letters, and it looks like the first recip had that specific prompt in their letter, while the second one just had a general "something cute and sweet" prompt for Winnie-the-Pooh. I'm guessing the second author went prompt-mining in the letters and accidentally doubled up.

When you have multiple gifts to comment on:

Comment on one gift at a time, as you have time to write them. Some people will get comments today, some will get comments tomorrow or the next day.

OR

Wait to post any comments until they are all written, for all gifts. Everyone will get their comments two days from now at around the same time.

Etiquette question

I'm thinking about writing a smutty side fic for one of the treats I wrote this year. The recip said they like smut and PWP; they didn't say anything about the kink I'd be writing, but it's implied in the ship they requested (e.g., D/s when one character's canonically a professional dominatrix) and they didn't DNW it. If I do write this fic, should I post it as a NYR gifted to the same recip or just keep it as drawerfic? I've never given smut as a gift before and I feel kind of weird about it, but I think I'd feel weirder about not acknowledging the original recip at all.

A follow-up smut fic freebie would kickass imo, but I'd be verrrry careful about what you think is freely implied about a pairing and would obviously be wanted by someone else just because they didn't DNW it and you're all-in on writing it. If they wanted kink, they would have asked for kink.
