If you've seen Shang-Chi, there are a lot of fics in the collection and I really enjoyed them! The Katy/Shaun ones are getting more attention, but the Katy/Xialing and gen ones are lovely too. :)

If you’re leaving insincere praise, you’re doing it wrong. My favorite good commenter has never shied away from leaving a glib comment on a fic it’s clear didn’t work for them and then 3 comments on a fic in the wild that did, and they have never had wank.

If you don’t like a gift fic just say thanks or reject. If you don’t like a fic in the collection, close the fucking tab. There’s no tracking on AO3, nobody will even know you read it.

Coal, I have a minor quandary.

I'm a drive-by treater rather than a proper Yuletide participant, meaning I only sporadically check the Yuletide communities. As a result, I missed the memo that you should tag fics for brand new fandoms as "Undisclosed Fandom" to make them easier to find/wrangle, and thus, the treat I posted to the main collection does not appear in the collection if you're searching by fandom. And yet, I have more than one comment and kudos, meaning that other people managed to come across it.

So, the quandary. Part of me wants to go in (if possible) and add the "Undisclosed fandom" tag so more people can see the fic, but part of me likes the idea of seeing how many people find this thing on their own before the mods finally wrangle the tags. Depending on how long that takes, that means that I'm probably not going to get a lot of engagement with this fic, which would be a bit of a disappointment, but I'm also kind of curious to know how many people find it via digging, alternate tags, or (maybe? hopefully?) recs.

What would other coalies do in this situation? Or which would you prefer from a reader's perspective?

Shang-Chi! It has a ton of fics (I think second-highest behind Ted Lasso) and the quality is uniformly very high. Both of the main ships got lots of great fic (including some meaty longfic!), and there's humor, romance, porn, canon adventures, gen, bittersweet family feels, you name it!

The feedback isn't as high as other MCU fandoms (there's a reason why it's in Yuletide), but it's still nice and there have been some lovely comments.

If they leave specific comments on things and it's a fandom I'm Really Into (as opposed to one I moderately like or picked up for my recip), then I usually seize the opportunity to talk about fandom with them. :)
