I've also rethought things and I've realised that if you claim to identify as male or female not on the basis of sex, you can only be basing it on sexist ideas of what men and women are like. That's why I no longer unthinkingly support gender identification.

2) two people who stepped up to make new posts, coalcube and chock_coal_ate_bawks.

chock_coal_ate_bawks went mad with power and was screening/freezing a lot of things because coal was (and is again apparently) always really bad at ignoring these loser TERFs (obligatory plz kill urself, @ those losers) so HQ made it so that you could no longer create new posts unless you were her.

then she went AWOL again so CC stepped up and made a new community. they did an informal coal poll (the first?) and asked if coalies wanted them to freeze shit like transwank or super OTT trolling (see: my kill urself above) or spamming (bye, butt and rabbit weirdos). most people said no, they were good at ignoring the trolls/blocking threads, so CC agreed to leave it alone and not go down the C_C_A_B route.

normally this isn't a problem because, as you can see, most of coal knows this bitch is stupid and won't engage with her. some very earnest coalies feel a need to debunk to her, but just as with nazis, "debating" or even trying to ridicule this fucking loser only results in her having more opportunities to share her deranged manifesto. freezing doesn't work either, because you need mods to be on hyper alert because it'll make those loser, who clearly has no life, start trying to sneak their shit through.

let them sit there with shit all over their face like the big baby they are. after they get tired of same anoning or being met with silence, they will go back to their usual corner of the internet. FFA is just about the only meme with enough mods for a "freezing" policy to work and they still get trolled. a one coalie shop like CC would make it impossible, so it's our job to help by pretending that it's frozen and not replying.

It's not a bug with this bullshit that to 'protect' people against these sexist stereotypes, that you have reinforced and codified those same sexist stereotypes that you hate so much.

You're not a tiny least powerful group of people, you're a male rights movement and it's women you're trying to take rights away from. If you were such a non-powerful group, you wouldn't be trying to get self-ID to pass in many countries.

When bigots attack cis/trans women who aren't feminine enough for going into the women's bathroom they aren't doing it because they know those women's genitals or chromosomes it's all based on visual sexist stereotypes set by the existing male power structure you claim to hate.

The fact that you're derailing a conversation about whether or not it's ok to gift unrequested trans fic in an exchange by repeatedly bring up irrelevant matters and trying to guilt trip people by reminding them that trans people can be treated horrifically by bigots makes you a wanker and an asshole of the highest order. Men and women have different experiences in the way they are raised thanks to societal biases, trans people are not exempt from that, though they face different issues. If someone requests a gender swap and doesn't specify a trans character, they' re wanting a fic based on the life the character would have based on the requested gender. The abuse and bigotry faced by trans people IRL is not relevant at all to the question when it's about fulfilling a request for someone

No, anon, the existence of two sexes does not require sexist roles and expectations built up around those sexes. Feminism, being a movement for female liberation, is in fact trying to dismantle sexist expectations and limitations placed on women (the female members of the species) simply because they are women (the female members of the species).

Believing ONLY two genders exist, like the comment I was replying to, does require those existing sexist stereotypes to function. It's how we currently separate the sexes in our male dominated societies and it's also a feature of this way of thinking as well.

If your feminism isn't all about forcing people to be squeezed into a pink or blue box so you can pretend you're 'protecting' women, then great. I'm not talking about you.
