I agree. I guess it's because it's split between the DW and the discord now, but for some reason I have trouble caring about the yulechat recs channel. I'd rather get my recs from a DW post.

Well, if it makes you feel any better, I *did* get recced, and have watched my hits counter go up by 0 since then (this wasn't recent). Still flattering to be recced but very much not a fast guarantee of more eyes.

Honestly I have seen very little evidence that most yuletide recs get followed, at least at this point in the week. I just count them as +1 bonus comments. Which is still nice!

Next year, I'm only writing for fandoms that will show up in the fandom list.

Whereas b_o did not recommend my fic for this or my last exchange and I am thrilled. I doubt myself heavily whenever one of my fics shows up on her recs lists. What did I fuck up for my recip? Who did I run over with an ambulance??

I was not a witness when this happened in YT 2013 but the gist is that YT Participant requested Die Hard M/M OTP with a note at the end saying they also love a female character and would love at least a mention of her in the story.

Beatrice_otter wrote a fic where one half of the OTP is in a relationship with the female character, and then the female character runs over the other half of the OTP. The fic is literally called “Road Kill.”

Isn't she also the one who had a fic rejected (I'm not sure if it's this one or another one) and insisted on writing another story for the recip, who had to rejected it, and then a THIRD story for them in an attempt to write them something they like. The poor recip. It was harassment, plain and simple. How dare you not accept my apology and gush over my efforts!

Request was for male main character/male villain, or failing that them interacting in a fun gen way. She wrote main character/main character's canon female love interest, and then the love interest ran over the villain with an ambulance and killed him.
