That's true! I definitely wouldn't write fic about fic about boy!X to fill a girl!X request. Luckily that's not an issue if she's a trans girl.

Unless you're matching on additional details, you can write boy!X to fill a girl!X request, since you're just matching on X. If X is canonically male, that's not a problem. If X is canonically female, that's a weird thing to be doing in an exchange without opt-ins.

If X is a boy who identifies as female, that's not a girl!X. Insofar as X was male in canon and remains male in your fic, that's no issue, but because you're bringing in an uncanonical gender feeling for X, that's trans fic, which is opt-in. You've ended up with neither a representation of X from the canon nor the opted-in girl!X, but a separate trans!X, which has not been opted-into. You've brought in your ideology, which is by no means universal and hasn't been opted-into.

It's only a case of opt-ins, much like dewclaws, not DNW violations. Still not good.

Sure but if you write boy!x you're not filling the girl!x request, even if you are filling other requests.

You can't treat any gender ideology as universal. Especially in secondary world fandoms. So DNW the ones you really don't want.
