So, I'm going to request an Alexis Kennedy game. People who've requested stuff involving creators who are well-known creeps in the past, do you find it useful to put any kind of note or disclaimer in your letter? I know Kennedy's a terrible person and I'm not going to be giving him more of my money, but I'd rather not have random strangers swing by and talk to me about it if at all possible.

Help me mix it up this year. Do you like:

1) Full sizes. I'm talking 8oz/250g packets of a couple of things
2) Sampler sizes. Maybe one or two teabags or sachets of more than a couple of things
3) Somewhere in between sizes. So less variety than samples, but not quite "oops now I have 8oz of something I hate"
4) Mix and match???

And what other things do you like in a package? A note? Nice wrapping? Suggestions on how to consume your new beverages???

Sometimes I wish authors were allowed to have DNWs. Maybe not freeform the way request DNWs work, but - it might be nice with some ticky boxes, so you could, say - submit that you're not willing to write bestiality or what have you?

At least it'd be a way to offer Norse myth without risking getting matched with someone really, really obsessed with certain stories involving Loki...

The last I looked, there were 77 letters on the app-generated spreadsheet at this point. Which of the "early mover" letters have piqued your interest so far? Any super unique prompts for fandoms that you would have never considered before?

because I need inspiration.

For nominated characters from youtube, when are youtube series considered "other media" and when are they considered RPF? For example, what is the difference between Buzzfeed: Worth It (a food show on YouTube) and Sorted (a food show on Youtube)? On is categorized as other media, one as RPF.

I guess I'm asking because I feel like RPF is somehow more about the celebrity/historical figure's irl details, while a youtube show would be more about the content of the show? But there are a few youtube shows slotted under RPF instead.

Judging from the signup post, AO3 is occasionally refusing to accept characters that are in the tagset, even when they're copy pasted in. Mods are having to manually edit them in.

What other new and exciting AO3 bugs will Yuletide reveal?

Hi lemonsharks!

I'm not sure how to separate out my DNWs from things I dislike or if I should lump them all together. I'm worried that it might be confusing to my author. I always DNW noncon and dubcon and if they are included in a fic, I would not finish the fic and would want go to the mods about it. I do clarify what I think is dubcon, since I know that people can have different definitions. I also have about ten other things I don't like, like second person POV fic, but will finish a fic if they are included in a gift fic for me despite my distaste. Should I A) list all of my DNWs and dislikes in my sign up, even though I would only care enough to go to the mods about two of them B) list my actual DNWs in my sign up and then put my dislikes in my letter or C) something else?

I spent so much time yesterday bookmarking the fandoms and letters I need to narrow down from. I fell in love with that app and how much easier and handier it is than a spreadsheet. Today, all wiped and back to 0. Fucking waaaah. Is there anything I need to do to my browser to prevent this? Is there a login I'm missing or some other thing I need to do? It doesn't happen with other sites. *sobs into dishtowel*

Because I'm listing mine and I'm afraid I'll forget something or not write them out clearly enough.

So: write them like you're writing a DNW List for Dummies so that no one can pretend to misunderstand them.
