This is crazy. No, tons of people in fandom avoid the AU where people have dog dicks and men are feminized or secondary genders are invented and trans/misogynistic violence is repurposed to be applied to that secondary gender for dramatic purposes. (And plenty of people don't, which is fine! But painting this as a universally okay thing to write unasked is wild to me.)

Sure, according to the rules. According to "being polite because we are participating in a fandom event", I would suggest that you should consider that many people will not want to read an AU that involves gender shit and misogyny by default, and that arguing that it's not an opt-in AU because it's so common is ridiculous.

It isn't. It's a weird sex thing. Weird sex things are always opt in. BDSM AUs are common as fuck and they are also not fine to give to a blank sign-up. Coffee Shop AUs are common and many people hate them and they are perfectly fine to give to a blank sign-up anyway because they are not weird sex things. (Does BDSM Omegaverse Coffee Shop fic exist? I would read that. But also I would ask for it.)

Y'all. Weird sex things are nearly always opt-in. There's a ton of omegaverse that includes precisely zero weird sex things. There are 84,623 omegaverse fics on AO3 rated non-explicit. You can both be right.
