Easy. Everyone with testosterone lower than whatever competes as a woman, because that is all that matters, right?

Other than that it seems to me that not having to document genitalia when the others don't would be fair as well.

I would go by the metric of "anyone who registers as THIS gender and has done so sufficiently in advance of the competition and has not competed as THAT gender in a specific window of time before the competition".

Because living as a different gender than other parts of society say you are is not something people do at the drop of a hat and it's ridiculous to treat trans athletes' inclusion as a slippery slope that means women's medals and prizes are gonna get stolen by men who couldn't win in their own category.

I don't know how to sensibly and fairly deal with nonbinary folks. Someone else can figure that out.

It’s not fair for men in sports and no cares, so why do we need to police women at all?

Michael Phelps has freakishly long arms and double jointed ankles giving a huge advantage over other male swimmers, weird that he’s allowed to compete against normal men.

The double standard on this just reminds me of the whole battle of the sexes shit. Where it was a whole thing that women had to prove themselves by beating men in sports, and now the script has flipped and they’ve convinced people including other women that to save women in sports from women succeeding that those successes have to not actually bedone by woman at all but secret men. Because women are weak or something and you’ve bought into it hook line and sinker.

Have you ever wondered why the gymnastics competitions are so different? Let’s have some sports focused on balancing and shit women excel at because of our general body shape.

As to your last paragraph, you clearly have no clue about sport. Take a look at competitors' times sometime; no need to get bogged down in the challenge of trying to assess other types of competitions.

mate i hate to tell u this but human beings are all unique and different. the only way to make sport 100% fair is to only allow identical clones to compete against each other. but what would be the point of that when sport is about embracing your natural talent and working hard to make the most of that?

like, im a very short man with noodle limbs; at least half the women i know could beat me up easy. certainly any female athlete could, chromosomes be dammned. does that make me a woman or are bodies just diverse?

That's because you care nothing for women.

Take a look at women's times in swimming sometimes, for an individual sport with no chance of inter-competitor injury. Katie Ledecky is a really, really good swimmer. She's the female swimmer with the most gold medals. When we compare her times to the times of the men in the finals of the same competitions, we see that she's slower than most or all of the men, depending on the race.

yeah except swimming is the stupidest sport to gatekeep trans women from. going on estrogen will reduce your muscle mass, but it doesnt change your skeleton, so… trans women on e (unless they transitioned before t puberty) have the same muscle but denser bones than cis women. im sure you can see why this is not exactly an advantage in swimming lol
