That second one is tagged "missing scene" but it's.... not. It's a rehashed scene from the movie. It's inoffensive, but boring af.

I can't remember how much of that scene/dialogue is in the film?

Anyway, the recip left no prompts or likes, and a placeholder letter on tumblr that they never bothered to update, and then they rejected a fic that is well enough written and does give some insight into the character even if it is somewhat rehashed? The NERVE. I hope I never get them in an exchange. Were they expecting the writer to be a mind reader?

It was a treat, and the signup was just a placeholder. I find it odd anybody would write that particular rehash in such a serious "this is devastating" way as a treat for somebody with a placeholder to start with, and odder that the recip rejected it.

The third one only had two requests, and I haven't read it but a glance it's hard to see what was so offensive about it.

It does have a single comment, though, from beatrice_otter. *eyebrows raise*

I don't know the fandom so I might be missing something, but it looks like the third fic is one of the f/f requests that ends up f/m.

Number two is some bland canon rehash but when your letter is still a placeholder I think you have only yourself to blame for that.

Digging into it a little bit, I think the third may have been actual spite fic.

I'm 99% sure the fic was for someone who requested any of the four nominated characters (none of which are Lloyd), made it super clear that they don't want any focus on the m/f, and left a bunch of prompts for both f/f and gen. About the m/f pairing they got fic for, they say "Breaking them up would also be fine, especially Karen/Lloyd." and "Honestly, I'd really like Karen to just give Lloyd what for. He really screwed her over and I'd love her to be furious about it."

And then they got a fic where a massive part of it is about Karen making up with Lloyd, with no real anger or even a confrontation. The fic ends by confirming that Karen and Margo are definitely married women and very happy about it.

I haven't played the whole game yet, but I don't see anything glaringly wrong with it?

I checked and the recip asked for just Abraham, with no unrequested pairings, but they got Abraham/Cardia.

I don't know anything about the game so I don't know if it was an unreasonable request in some way, but it does look like the fic violated a DNW.

Ready to finally end the redhead, Van pulled out his gun and pointed it at him. So what if he messed up the dining table in the process, he could simply reimburse Saint the cost. Whatever price it was would be more than worth making this idiot finally shut up.

Fortunately for Impey, Cardia stepped up and placed her gloved hand on Van's arm and started to lower his hand. "Now now… let's calm down… please?" She pleaded as she looked into Van's eyes with a faintly nervous smile.

Albeit reluctant, Van put away his gun at Cardia's request, however he continued to glare at Impey.

"He's whipped…" Lupin mumbled as he watched the scene from his seat, though his quietly spoken words did not go unheard by Van, who redirected his attention towards the thief.



The writing could be improved, but it feels well-meaning to me? Lots of epithets, lots of circling around the same exaggerated drama, and many punctuation mistakes, but if that's all that's wrong with it, rejecting seems like an overreaction. It's cute.

A lot of the story seems to involve one character being teased by the others. Maybe that was the kind of humiliation the author DNW'd, rather than, say, sexual humiliation?
