I haven’t landed on an idea I’m excited about for this PH and it’s starting to annoy me. I’m a fast and fairly clean writer so I could totally pop out a couple thousand words and be done with it, but I want to be enthusiastic about the things I write! Maybe I just need to take a look at the prompts again with a more discerning eye…

The awesome: I offered this fandom that I know well and used to be active in and got an assignment I like featuring a pairing I used to ship ages ago and am having a ton of fun writing this fic.

The WTF just happened: I started canon review... and then canon reviewed again and again and again... and have fallen in love with the ship and the fandom all over again. Which is great... but I am now hyperfixated on the fandom to the exclusion of all else... and am now wasting time looking for merch on Ebay and wishing I'd requested this fandom myself instead of just offering!

I get badfic for Yuletide most years. The SPAG messes are more tolerable than the ones that ignore my DNWs, give me new ones, or leave out one of the two characters I requested except for one line at the end. I get nice treats sometimes.

I don't have a life hack but I have this: as a writer there's nothing I love more than a "weird" prompt or an overly specific list of likes that I can tell someone wrote 100% from their heart. When I look for people to treat I'll take enthusiasm over id match any day. And finding out about people rarepairs, out-there headcanons, and unusual AU ideas is one of my favourite part of sign-ups. Please have fun with your requests coalie!
