Does anyone have a link to Shang Chi with the Chinese subbed into English? I've downloaded 5 different torrents and they all have French subs. I know I can wait until it comes on Disney plus in 3-ish weeks, but I don't want to lose momentum on this fic and need some canon review of certain scenes.

The new post went up when the letters post went up. There probably won’t be a new post until the default deadline or the comments hit capcha (5k?).

I don't have to search, I already know my fave trope is going to come up in tons of DNW lists, and that anyone who likes it enough to ask for it will stick that kind of thing in the letter.

It tends to go kind of quiet in the early-to-mid creation period. It'll pick up again whenever pinch hits go out or the deadline starts looming.

Does anyone have any suggestions for getting myself enthusiastic about my assignment when I'm really not? My recip hasn't done anything in their request/letter to make me want to just cut my losses with 1001 of whatever, but their prompts do nothing for me

Reviewing canon is the #1 thing for me. It helps me remember why I offered the canon in the first place. After that, I sometimes find it helpful to brainstorm a list of why, exactly, I enjoy the canon so much, and then try to figure out a fic that taps into those aspects.

I was excited to write a concept based on my recip's signup but they've unlocked their letter and now I see it's a DNW :( I know it's technically within the rules for me to write it regardless, but I can't in good conscience create something I know they'll dislike.

Coal comes in many flavors. Like:

Obviously wrote it the night before it due (possibly drunk at the time).
The ever popular "I had something already in progress and ODAO" fic.
Kittyfic (to be fair, not always! Or so I have been told).
Seemingly deliberate inclusion of DNWs. Spitefic.

I kind of want to include "Tried really hard, but lacked the skill to pull it off." but that doesn't seem fair. I think earnest efforts should get a pass.
