You've confused "summary" with "author's note". Please cut the last three paragraphs and put them where they belong.

I really wish I hadn't written in the same fandom that I've received fic in, because now I can't help but compare our works (and mine is doing slightly worse).

I'm glad that they're wrangling previously-unwrangled fandoms so quickly, but an... interesting decision has been made over the fandom I wrote in, and I'll be a little annoyed if it stays like this. Oh well, at least it's on the fandoms page now!

This isn't a complaint, but I need to say it:

My treat recip's main gift is in the same fandom I wrote for them. The fic is completely different from mine in both style and subject matter, and I hope the recip enjoys both takes on the fandom. However: ooohh my goodness, it's so much better than mine! Like, really breathtakingly detailed and clever and well-researched and beautifully written. I'm not even jealous, I'm just in awe.

I don't think the notes of a gift fic for someone else is the place to wax lyrical about how much you love your beta, and it annoys me when I see it in the wild.

My worse fic is going at over 50% kudos to hits now + it’s getting comments. My better fic is at cricket kudos to over 10 hits. I don’t get it!

It's not that I haven't been delighted, stunned, and completely over the moon about fic...but I always get "adequate but missing the point" for Yuletide and it's such a bore.

I know my fic is not going to do well. It's not shit but I couldn't make it interesting. I don't mind if my recip is disappointed because they are an idiot anyway. But I wanted to write something good anyway, for the other people in the fandom and because I take pride in my writing. RL intervened and I didn't manage to treat anyone either. My gift is really good but somehow that's worse, I feel I don't really deserve it. :(

My fic is the only one in the fandom not to have a single comment or kudos. So it's not a matter of the fandom being too obscure or w/e. Also someone else wrote a fic for a different recip that more or less fits the same prompt that I wrote for my recip. Wheeeeeeeee.

This is a call-out post for myself! You should have started that treat sooner, so it wouldn't be so rushed and you wouldn't feel terrible that it's in the most popular fandom you wrote this year so of course it's getting the most attention! EDIT BETTER NEXT TIME.

Someone else obviously got a more adventurous recip than me and wrote the kink fic I wanted in this fandom. I'm glad it exists, I just wish I'd got to write it myself!

Idk how you intended it, but you "congrats on finishing the fic!" note at the end of the fic comes off hella pretentiously.

Also, I didn't finish it, I scrolled all the way down because I've given up trying to engage and wanted to see if there were comments.

Why is this FPF fic tagged with my RPF fave, who gets two lines in the whole thing, and then the author decided to write a Finn with a fandom stereotype Russian accent.

I'm trying to get my kink on here but one of the fics tagged underage seems like a case of hysterical overcorrection because there is definitely nothing to warn for in there.

If I were more mature this would be a case of not my fic, not my problem, but today I'm petty.

Mine isn't really about Yuletide at all, but the fact that I just went through and opened a bunch of fandoms and now I have 30 different tabs, all labelled "Yuletide 2019 - Works". Would it kill them to include the tag name in the page title too?

I was really excited to read the other fics in the fandom I wrote for because yuletide was the one time of year when I thought someone might write something I'd dig, but they're all OOC with iffy formatting or weird overwrought character choices so there's still nothing fun for me to read!!

also, and here's the petty part, they're all doing better than my fic, which definitely has its flaws but is at least mostly IC and formatted decently, and I'm sad.

I can't complain about my gift (it was a pinch-hit but still exceeds 4k and is more or less what I wanted from that prompt). I also can't get too excited because it was the fandom I picked just because we needed to request three. I only signed up for YT to request two super obscure fandoms, but I can't say I'm surprised I didn't get them either.

I'm still really mad that you couldn't nom "Ancient Greek Religion & Lore", but oh look, it's there in the tags because people used it anyway/other "eligible" fandoms got synned to it.

(And no, I was not going to put together a thorough defense/evidence post just so I could request actualfax bestiality Queen Pasiphae/The Bull fic)
