Coalie, this is ridiculous. Do you want the shitty comment I write on Christmas morning while mostly focusing on breakfast and screaming adorable nieces and nephews and oohing and aging over the gifts my siblings got me? Because I promise you, if you wait until this evening when everyone has passed out, you’ll get something lovely.

What exactly do you put in that breakfast, coalie? Asking for a friend. A friend whose family will not calm down and be quiet for awhile.

I kicked them all out to the park to spend those breakfast calories and I'm inhaling my massive gift fic instead of adulting.

The trick is to ply the children with sugar and the adults with booze. There’s an intermediate period where everyone is very, very loud indeed, but if you can get through that, they all go to sleep remarkably soon.

As an adult who has not been plied with enough alcohol today, I concur. The people I'm with have an annoying tendency to clear everything away as soon as they possibly can, whether you're finished with it or not. I supposedly got a coffee that I never set eyes on and my wine glass disappeared after dinner. I can tell you my mood improved when some hours later I received another downed two more glasses also got into an argumen with my sister over that thing she did earlier that gave me the rage, which was nicely clearing
