You realize you're white knighting the person who gave EO the chance to be an asshole by... dragging these email that the sender expected to be confidential out in direct, identifiable quotes to a server of a hundred people and inviting them to mock and belittle the person.

No, the story has been pretty coherent throughout except for the people who kept trying to cover their asses with a smokescreen about how it wasn't that bad that was immediately busted by someone else posting direct leaked quotes.

The other participating mods remain unnamed and I don't understand why. adastreia and EO are the most egregious, but the others are implicated too. They deserve the same scrutiny.

Tbh, if the coalie who posted excerpts wasn't reordering things, the +18 was on the first grumpy comment, before there was any deannoning and before e_o got really vicious. Still not a great look, but grousing about unreasonable recips without deanonning or exact quotes seems pretty reasonable for a discord intended to let mods grouse without deannoning.

It's a worse look that they didn't say anything after it got worse and got deanoned but that applies to everyone not just the 18 +1s.

Even the first comment is really embarrassing when the person they are talking about is in the room. Of course they assume that's not the case and now it got out and they've got egg on their faces.

Good point. I do agree with you. With that in mind, the recip was identifiable in server by this comment's time:

- iirc this recipient has successfully participated in multifandom events before, so I am also less inclined to be charitable in terms of event culture mismatch

and I think the mods who continued from then, including the mod who said this and the mod who asked if it was X/Y ship fic for fandom Z in the first place, deserve to be identified too.
