Honestly I don't think this is weird? They didn't go into detail, they just said they find it jarring because they have IRL experience. Is it any weirder than listing out kinks, which 70% of the letters I've seen do? Sometimes in lurid detail?

I don’t want to know their IRL experience, and listing out kinks is not saying “I have done this IRL.” All I want to know is that they want prep in their fic, and the sentence could have ended there.
