Honestly, if the only thing they've learned is that talking crap openly means they also get talked about and that it sucks, that's fine with me. They've done what I hoped they'd do - locked it the fuck down so they're not airing their shit out in public (hopefully for good). You can't teach people not be assholes, but you can teach them that being an asshole has consequences.

I just think the bar for understanding "welp, that was rude, how did I not realize this before?!" is so incredibly low and it's such a basic thing, it's hard to wrap my head around someone being so entirely resistant to the idea. But I guess the important part is that they modify their behavior, regardless of their reasons, even if it's just annoyance at having their reputation suffer.

I honestly don’t think DG is even in this convo, it’s not really their style. They're perfectly comfortable complaining about people in public, and aren’t going bother to come fight anon.

(I think complaining about people with names/specifics attached in public is rude, and doing it here where basically only other people who want to bitch come look is different, though not hugely so since it often seems to filter back to the people involved.)
