Sorry, can someone help me out with the ficinabox minimum wordcount rules? I see some of the requests have a lower minimum than 10k, like 500, but does that just mean any of the component stories that make up the 10k can go that low?
Maybe a 5 minute fandom - 6k words, sci-fi short story Calf Cleaving in the Benthic Black by Isabel J. Kim - https://clarkesworldmagazine.com/kim_11_22/
It's definitely FF (the protagonist & her girlfriend), but while the author has written Korean-American protagonists in her other stories, I don't remember if this one is explicitly about WOC or just non-specified.
Re: Canon/Letter recs for the thing you want to write
Come the fuck on. We recently had a whole thing establishing about how it's perfectly fine to be KINKTOMATO about, say, RPF, and still find that some things cross a line.
I have a similar issue with a lot of stuff in the no-kink-shaming 18+ fandom circles TBH. I have a really vivid imagination, and I don't care what people read or write for fun but in spaces shared by people who haven't already opted into that kind of content (such as an exchange name that's liable to pop up in the PH channel or whatever), I wish things were less graphic.
That feels like a straightforward reading because similar spins on 'marathon' exist elsewhere - e.g. hackathons.
I guess you could make the case that this is also graphic, but I always read it more in terms of the event itself rather than describing scenes written for the event.
