Every time someone argues for Thrawn my eyes roll out of my head. Star Wars: still not fucking obscure!

They've accepted Star Wars canons before. Die mad.

I take serious issue with the fact that they are saying Thrawn is acceptable, but "Queen's Shadow" isn't when the reasons they give for not allowing "Queen's Shadow" are the same things that could be said about Thrawn.

Either both should be in or both should be out.

I know getting people to actually read through directions is tough, but Morbane needs to make the part where you only need evidence for fandoms that are borderline and/or confusing in bigger font, because invariably there's someone arguing for a normal, eligible fandom going "it looks like it has 1300 fics, but really it's only 639 if you apply filters!"

The Discworld one. Okay, Sybil's only tagged in 289 works. And??? That's not evidence, that's anecdata! It has fuck all to do with the fandom_s eligibility as a whole!

It's almost like they tried to crib from Astolat's attempt to nominate the Transformers cartoon without noticing how spectacularly it failed.

I thought the mods have been letting in specific Discworld books for years, provided they're nominated as specific books. This is just so low-effort.

Yeah. If anything, you'd need to use Vimes as a measure for that particular series. I don't get why they chose Sybil in particular.

With the caveat that I dropped the series a while back, I think the My Hero Academia: Vigilantes nom isn't going to take. Sure the main characters don't show up in the regular series, but supporting characters from the main series show up like every other damn chapter.

Guess the mods don't know that, lol.

I can't decide if I think the Black Panther nom will make it.

I'd actually make a case for that, because it's so cut off from the rest of the canon, and T'Challa wasn't in Infinity War a lot. And the top ships in the character tag are James "Bucky" Barnes/Steve Rogers (1652), Pepper Potts/Tony Stark (754) and Steve Rogers/Tony Stark, which indicates he's mostly an overtagged background character.

Same thing with Captain Marvel, except that's got a stronger case since it's a prequel and Carol wasn't in most of Endgame. I know people get annoyed at "oh you're trying to get MCU in to Yuletide," but it's frustrating if you do want to read something about pre-IW Wakanda that isn't Bucky herding goats, or fic about Carol set in the 80s and 90s, and instead you get T'Challa/Tony Stark fics.
