I don't have a problem with kink-based exchanges in general but I hate how most exchanges these days have an Original Works option where you can just nominate whatever specific kink configuration you have and completely ignore actual existing fandoms. Save that stuff for original work exchanges, ffs.

Why should anyone be able to change any exchange into a list of demands for their specific kinks? It's not really fair that someone can nominate four noncon/incest/whatever original ships and then only request those, in any exchange. Keep it to smut, kink and OW exchanges.

Some exchanges split up by type (M/M, F/F, multi), so it’s feasible that someone stuff their signup with 15 variations of incest toddlerfucking, and maybe the marginalia of an 1972 original run of a Czechoslovakian cookbook to fill that last slot, but I’m not sure I’ve actually seen that in the wild.

You can nominate generic “Man/Woman” with no other details and if someone picks it, you can ODAO any way you like.

Nobody is being forced to write any specific kink they don’t already share. If nobody wants to offer those things, they are an IPH.

I don't think I've ever seen a multi-fandom exchange that had a minimum ship requirement without a minimum fandom requirement.

I am sick to death of the OW wank. Some of my favorite gifts have been OW, and not allowing OW in exchanges won't magically make more fic for the wankers' fandoms appear.
