No, that's not what I'm trying to say. I'm saying "request rare fandoms and nothing else and you WILL get a gift in those fandoms". There's no vague "you never know" about it.

It is possible to be guaranteed a gift in one of your (typically three) requested fandoms and still have fandoms which never see gifts outside of Yuletide. Come on now. Use your imagination.

Again, you don't get it. If you request those three fandom in any other standard multi fandom exchange, you WILL get a gift in one of them. Even if it's three out-of-print books never translated into English.

The exchange won't open until someone wrote you a gift in them.

If you don't bother requesting them, or if you request them alongside a more popular fandom, that's not going to happen of course.

+1 The difference between YT and all the other exchanges is that a PH will be generally picked up faster, but it will be picked up eventually in any exchange, and the fandom, no matter how rare, will get a gift. The opposite has never happened.

I'm not sure you should be talking about using imagination. Request three of those fandoms that never get anything outside Yuletide and only those. Then wait. You will eventually see a gift in this other exchange too.

If the pinch hit lingers for an eternity and the collection never opens, ok, those fandoms might only exist in Yuletide.

Let me try this again.

It is possible to be guaranteed a gift in one of your (typically) THREE rare fandoms and still have SPECIFIC fandoms which you never get a gift for (outside of Yuletide, if you're lucky).

If you have such FANDOMS as in fandoms PLURAL then request only those SPECIFIC fandoms.

You're trying so hard to act like you're unique as fuck with requests that nobody will write or couldn't even know outside Yuletide. Because Yuletide is a magical place where even the impossible happens and people who go to Yuletide can never leave Yuletide to write those things outside it.
