They're not the real villain, but it's a ESH situation (well, everyone except the recip). Bitching about a recip who did nothing wrong in mod discord is shitty, randos chiming in to call the recip a liar is super shitty, no one speaking up to say "hey, this is shitty, can we stop" is shitty, and silently watching it all unfold without speaking up and instead coming to coal to say "LOLOLOL, look at those misbehaving mods" is also shitty.

The point is the latter is by far the least shitty of that selection because they did something about the issue, even if you would have preferred them to push back in private so adastreia and EO could save face, but there's been a desperate effort by 1-2 people recently to say that they're the only real villain of the piece.

By 1-2 people yeah, care to share with the class where did you pull these numbers out?

It's not an either/or situation. They could (and should, IMO) have pushed back in the server AND made it public. Letting adastreia and EO save face is really not the point.

If they pushed back *and* made it public, the other mods would know who it was that leaked quotes. They'd just paint a target on their back.

OP isn't the only asshole here but they are a major asshole. The recipient wasn't an asshole for asking for an EPH and they're not an asshole now. Adastreia wasn't an asshole, they were asking for advice for a situation they needed help with. EO was an asshole, no surprise there but the other mods operated on the information they had and most of them were like, welp that's a sucky situation. We know all of this because those were the quotes posted here. OP has now spread this to thousands of people across multiple platforms because they're bored while YT nominations are approved. They can get locked in a room with EO and those two can annoy each other by themselves.

I want to understand what "the other mods operated on the information they had" means to you. The recips' emails were leaked verbatim. Mods identified the gift by ship and fandom, there was no (apparent) 'hey, take that identifying information down'. The mods had too much information. Is there something being misrepresented here? Did the mods miss some crucial information? What do you mean?

Anyway no they're all assholes, and I want to double check that I'm understanding you.
