ah that explains why mod sounded BEC about the recip

For sure. Maybe the mod(s) tried to read the fic but found it upsetting because of their squicks and that's why they went into the mods conversation with a certain amount of resentment already built up. It's understandable to feel hurt and upset by something and go "This person is responsible for the hurt, this must have been on purpose and there's something wrong with them", or put some amount of irrational blame on the recip for even making them try to read the fic that closely, but in that situation a mod should cool off and step away, not go looking for an echo chamber of random mods to validate feeling squicked and hurt by an unreasonable EPH request.

(...I swear I didn't start out this post with the intention to sound this petty, yet here we are. Doesn't feel great, does it?)
