What characters to request

I am requesting a fandom where I want fic centered on, say, Charles. But almost all my prompts also include Sabrina, Dylan, and Alex, and I have a hard time seeing how you'd write anything without at least one of those three. Should I request all four or just Charles?

Would it bother you to receive a work written about Charles in an empty room?

Are there other minor characters your writer might inexplicably focus on, like Charles & that person who shows up at the very end of the spin-off?

I have a hard time seeing how you'd write anything without at least one of those three

This is logical to me but I assure you someone can do it.

There are many.

Yup.

Or Charles and Dylan and mention that Sabrina and Alex are your next favourites and if your author wants, it'd be cool for them to show up too/instead, no obligation though.

If you genuinely don't care who else is in the fic (if anyone) then just request Charles, if you do have any preference request whichever characters you want him interacting with, and then you can also say you're fine with not including all of the other three if that's the case.

Personally I dislike when every prompt includes non-requested characters because there is a chance I haven't offered all of them and it makes it seem like you wouldn't be happy with fic just about the characters you offered, but if you have at least as many Charles-only prompts as Charles + Other prompts it's not quite as bad.

Just request Charles. Accept the possibility that this means you might get Charles & Roberta (assuming Charles, Sabrina, Dylan and Alex are not literally the only characters in the canon).
