if they let int in this year, however, it's likely it won't get in next year.

Agatha All Along - Not hating or anything, but I'm always surprised at how much people can write about shows/fandoms that haven't even come out yet. I suppose MCU fans are kept well fed with constant news, which is maybe why this post is giving Marketing Spiel, with a ton of empty "appears to" and "promises to" nothing words whipped up into evidence. Like those youtubers who can spin a two-sentence tweet into an 8 minute video. Guess I am hating a lil bit, my bad, just don't know why people are so eager to book their seats in a fandom, sight unseen, like they're gonna get a pre-order bonus.

Dawntrail - Glad this got smacked down because I initially got suckered in, lmao. I've never played FF14 because I don't hate myself enough to get into a late-stage mmo, but I could def get into some brand new nonsense if it was like they said. Nahhhh, five minutes of googling pulls apart this whole post. The director compares FF14 to a tv show and sees Dawntrail as the second season, but says you should still experience the first season -- but the evidence post kinds slides right past that. The rest of bunbun's answers miss the point of the questions, and they cap it off with this slickness: "Okay, so having established that Dawntrail is its own thing..." What in the Year 9 essay am I looking at here? Babe, you ain't established shit! I love the confidence tho. Go bunbun, give us misinformation.

Baldur's Gate 1&2 - Why is greenwoodside seconding a nomination? in the evidence post?? after it was already approved???

KOTPOTA - Good foresight. Kingdom is supposed to be the start of a new trilogy within the wider Apes franchise, so separating it out into its own nomination is a good idea. Appropriate icon too!

Fuller House - Love the timestamps on that lil exchange at the end. Girlie took 3 hours to come back with that mic drop but on the way down the mic screeched with static feedback and called her a dumbass.

The Scandalous Confessions of Lydia Bennet, Witch - "In [Pride & Prejudice], I'm pretty sure they are all standard humans." You are correct for forgetting about Mr Collins, but consider Mr Collins.

Hades 2 - Interested to see how they deal with this. I would have assumed that it was obviously ineligible since it has so much overlap with Hades 1, is a direct sequel, features returning characters, etc... but as an early access game it isn't actually finished, and might have incomplete story elements (I've been avoiding spoilers so idk), and maybe that makes it more distinct? Weird situation.

Mercury Series - A tiny fandom ganging up to retroactively declare a set of century-old books as a series, with a name they made up, while including their own damn spreadsheet full of colour-coded shit no one cares about... it's such a nostalgic slice of that vintage unhinged-yet-hyper-organized fan experience. This is the kind of energy I need to bring into my own life tbh. Also the TL;DR is TL, AND it comes with a Further Note that is almost as long as the TL;DR. Exquisite stuff.

Incompetent Time Traveling Saxophone Haters - So are all the prompts for this just gonna be an extended child abuse fantasy or...???

Shaperaverse - Looks like a fuckin' nightmare, no offence. Well, partial offence. Anyway, both of their ao3 links give me different numbers than what they say. It's not a huge discrepancy, but maybe get the relevant info right before detailing a full list of everything that has ever happened.

I'm so mad about the Shaperaverse thing. The promo post is from the guy who is infamous for signing up to 250 exchanges a year (not hyperbole) and staying months behind on his comments at best. Cool cool dude let's just approve a fake request for you so you can concentrate on your other two requests, no one is going to consume 300 hours of concept albums and tie ins for your post-human faves.

these are probably the people eager to chase fandom fame. get into a fandom early enough before it blows up, write a bedrock fic, be famous for the entirety of that fandom’s life. rinse repeat for next fandom

i think hades 2 shouldn’t either. it’s a direct sequel as you say, and from what’s been said by people who have played it (as well as i think the developers but don’t quote me) the game is basically complete. they’re not gonna suddenly add a million patches that give a brand new ending, or hide things behind several dlcs. a whole bunch of new characters and stuff but hmm. not sold that it’s its own entity

I'm not sure why they wouldn't allow Hades II. The story is continuing but with a new main character, new characters and expanded lore & any of the original characters aren't available for most the whole game. It'd be frustrating to want to request a Melinoe or Nemesis fic but couldn't because Hades is over 1k, when neither of those characters were in the first game. I don't see this as much different between like a Dragon Age or Mass Effect style game, each of which have tags for individual games and an all works tag. There is a tag for Hades 2 but it only goes back to Hades and probably shouldn't.

Possible issue with the fandom: There are 1040 fics on AO3.
Why this fandom should be considered eligible: Filtering down to completed works in English leaves only 837 fics posted for this fandom.

How are people so bad at reading instructions!

Gonna piggy-back off of what that previous anon did and judge some requests/evidence posts/etc.

The Magnus Protocol: good on them for getting that tag approval in now, because I have a sneaky suspicion that it's going to be harder to say "you can enjoy this canon without listening to the Magnus Archives" the longer the canon goes on.

Fantasy High: Junior Year: absolutely is not eligible and good on the mods for realizing that. Listing "the new set of NPCs" as a evidence point doesn't mean anything when it's the same set of PCs and is also a direct fucking sequel.

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice: I haven't seen this film yet but I highly doubt it's as stand-alone as the requester says it is (could be wrong, though).

SMPanything: no comment on the eligibility factors but wow does skimming the fanwiki for anything related to this make me feel real old.

SMP is total nonsense to me. Sure, live/shared storytelling. I can see why it's fun and I can also not understand it at all.

Beetlejuice is a weird one. It's a sequel HOW many years later? But also lol at "Beetlejuice, the title character, appears MORE in the sequel and that makes it different", like, what?

Coming in late, but what gets me most about the person trying to nom FFXIV: Dawntrail is... how do you /filter/ for just Dawntrail? People do not, as a practice, tag FFXIV fic by the expansion the story is set in. There are thousands of Dawntrail fics that do not mention "Dawntrail" in tags ANYWHERE.
