Do people not rec gifts on EAD? I don't go there because whenever I look it seems like it's full of wank.
(Unfortunately my answer there is "get involved in other fandom social spaces until someone knows you well enough to tell you about the good discords" which is kind of catch-22 if the reason you want discords is you can't stand other social spaces. Although sometimes going on the big discords full of wank and teens works for that, if you can stand *them* long enough to get to know the sane people.)
