Lol, SuzieAnna and SweetSorcery are part of another exchange where pinch hits are lingering.

You love to see it! Wonder if they're tempted to take their toys and go home again, or if they're at least smart enough to just email their fics to each other privately if they get impatient this time.

I feel sorry for the mod, though - that's a high proportion of frequent defaulters in one exchange.

That exchange may also be suffering for being a high-minimum exchange due on the exact same day as fffx, so some of it can be laid to mod planning

It's true, it's a high-min exchange, but there was a long creation period and there doesn't seem to be all that much overlap between the FFFX participant list and the Soulmates participant list. I don't know if the same deadline is really a factor.

I wonder why they chose 3.5k though. So random!

FFFX being due that day kills the available longficcer pinch hit pool, though.

Do you think? The fandoms seem fairly different, and the deadlines are now out of alignment - Jan 31 for Soulmates and Feb 10 with probable wiggle room for FFFX.

Having just dememed those names... oh, wow, that is a whole thing.

But lingering pinch hits haven't affected reveals yet here; there's been no announced delay. On the other hand, it is kind of a ludicrous number of pinch hits to expect to fill in time. If I hadn't just acquired a new job I might bite the bullet and take another one, but I am TIRED and have an existing WIP that's behind because of it. And I've already done one.

Hey, congrats on your new job!

Yeah, there's no delay yet and still several days before PH deadline, so I don't want to be too doom and gloomy - but on the other hand it really is a lot of PHs, including some that the PH pool seems to have limited capacity for.

i always read that as lulz soulmates, lol.

but seriously why aren't those two banned from exchanges already after the shit they pulled.

(Anonymous) 2024-01-28 03:49 am (UTC)(link)
Probably because there isn't a central banning registry of participants? Imagine the wank and the effort to maintain it lol.

Like, sure, Aurae is banned by at least a dozen mods, but that took years of it gradually becoming clear she was trying to fuck people up, and one selfish immature flounce from S & S isn't remotely on the same level.

Like if a mod came to me and said "hey btw you probably want to ban Sparklysue and Gigolopuff," and I go "why" and they go "they wrote for each other, had a tantrum about delays to the collection, and pulled their work" I'd go "meh, that sucks but it's manageable."

Similarly "you should probably ban Geronimolly, she causes drama!" just.... looks like drama from the mod telling me to ban Geronimolly.

[no names intended to bear any resemblance to actual fans etc etc]

well good luck dealing with them then. they pulled that shit once, they will do it again.

(Anonymous) 2024-01-28 11:47 pm (UTC)(link)
They could. But if they’re writing for each other, the biggest impact is that they look petty as hell, and if they’re not writing for each other, at least one of them still has skin in the game. Plus I think SweetSorcery got a nasty surprise with the backlash in f5k.

hopefully they got a nasty surprise. they come across as pretty shameless imo. like they got someone to write their ships so screw everybody else.
