On FFA they believe that the gift they got had no ship in the story, even if it's tagged with a requested ship. I haven't read the fic, so I can't confirm.

JFC, if you can't write the ship, just don't fucking offer it! There are plenty of gen requests!

Different people have different levels they consider shippy. Some people think friends with cute interaction is shippy. Other people don't think it counts unless they fuck. There's a range.

Tumblr interpretations of ~shippy don't count. There needs to be some direct intention that there is a romantic relationship. And there is nothing here. EPH deserved. Author bad. If I was a mod, I'd preemptively ban them from any exchange I run going forward.

ffa was speculating it was an AI work which frankly I'm a bit curious about too.

And, keeping in mind this is meant to be a "mediaeval AU":

In canon that character's tragic backstory is that he ran someone over in a car years ago. But cannot comprehend why changing the girl to a "milkmaid" seemed to them like the only thing that needed to be medievalised?? They had girls in medieval times?? Not cars??

If it were an honest mistake I'd assume they typo'ed "cart" but still laying money on chatGPT

Maybe they wrote it then decided to change it to medieval AU afterwards?

Does AI produce anything like this at all? The thing is those lines make no sense as anything but convoluted metaphors, I've really never seen AI put out stuff like that (admittedly I haven't tried a lot). It just sounds like a non native speaker who's not quite managed to construct English sentences and relies on translation.

Oh, that's a really good point. Maybe a translation software or double-language dictionary translated "church" to "Cathedral" and "the body of Christ" to "the Holy Form"? And even "cart" or "wagon" to "car"

The milkmaid line, out of no where, is some god tier comedy. It's like a line from a Garth Marenghi book.

Yeah? It goes on multiple times about whatever he has going on with a girl named Erin and how she fills him with lust or whatever and how he couldn't be with her. Erin isn't even tagged in the fic even
