JFC, coalie, you're missing the damn point. No one is particularly pressed about whether some rando on the internet occasionally takes mushrooms or weed or whatever. It's not about the legality or the ethics of drugs.

It's about writing someone's gift fic while you're high. It would be just as bad if I posted a Tweet saying I just had a bottle of wine (perfectly legal, super common) and I'd write my Yuletide assignment now.

Okay? What kind of complaint do you imagine? Unless you talk about writing it high, people won't know. If there are indeed any issues with the fic, they will assume the issue is your writing skills and the vast majority of people will not complain about that.

If I get a Yuletide gift that sucks and have no other information, I will assume my writer did their best and they're just a bad writer. If I get a Yuletide gift that sucks and the author's note says "I wrote this while I'm high", I will assume that's why the fic sucks. (Maybe it won't be the reason. Maybe the fic would be just as bad or even worse if they were sober, who knows. But it doesn't matter because you had to share that TMI.)
