They're definitely baiting. And then when their bait doesn't work they point out their bait, which is just more bait.

A lot of their posts read to me like they're anxious/catastrophizing every chat interaction, and perseverating on getting mean comments/harassment. (Although maybe they just want attention and I'm being too charitable.)
