+1, one of the few Supernatural episodes I’ve watched is Scoobynatural and that was fairly enjoyable, so Sam and Dean getting sucked into one of my canons would be fine. I also just don’t like superheroes.

Yeah, I don't seek out spn crossovers or anything, but you know it's either gonna be Hunters show up in canon to Hunt a thing, or Somebody crosses universes using SPN's crossover MacGuffin, and then either they use Hunter skills to do plot stuff, or Dean the LBD sleeps with someone he picked up at a bar. Workmanlike, reasonably close to what I requested, hangs together.

MCU is either going to awkwardly attempt a fusion between incompatible fandoms, or go entirely off the rails. Or possibly bring in a single MCU character without explains what happened to the rest of their universe. Both of which can be good! But are way more likely to be really bad, and in a non-crossover exchange, also likely to be someone who clearly cares more about MCU.

(Exception for Cap showing up in WWII fandoms, that's usually fine.)

NA

I completely agree re: MCU just not crossing over gracefully with other canons. It's almost always going to be awkward.

That really depends on the fandom. Most of my fandoms would work far better as MCU crossovers than SPN crossovers. I wouldn't particularly enjoy receiving either, but "... and also, superheroes exist and [characters from my canon] have to help save the world as Steve and Bucky kiss in the background" would fit MUCH more smoothly into nears all of my canons than "... and also, demons exist and those two guys are hunting them".

Sure, there's lots of canons where SPN isn't a natural fit. But they also have canon crossovers where they are literally sucked into fictional worlds where everything is different, so technically it's all already SPN canon. "These weirdos chased a demon through a swirly portal" works for everything.

I mean if you hate swirly-portal crossovers or you just like MCU better fair enough though. And a setting-swao crossover that puts your characters in another role without introducing canon chars from that world, I'd take Superhero over Hunter any day (I think I'd still prefer Generic Superhero to MCU though, MCU is just such a sprawling mess these days.)
