Still working on my letter! A little self-conscious because some of these ships are major characters where I've written a lot in previous letters, and some of them are minor characters where it's like "you know that one scene in canon? That but more please." I want both of them equally but I hope my creator won't be fased if some sections are a lot more verbose.
The trouble with Candy Hearts being a biggish exchange that comes so soon after Yuletide is that Yuletide activity levels always lead me to overestimate how much interest there'll be for my tiny fandoms in other exchanges, so I enthusiastically add things that got decent numbers of requests and offers in Yuletide to the tagset and then not one person requests any of them. Happens every year (not even with the same set of fandoms!) and is always a bit of a deflating start that leaves me realising there is very minimal chance of any requests I'm excited to treat popping up until next Yuletide rolls around.
I've made a conscious effort to try and get into more recently released canons over the last couple of years because my old favourite fandoms were getting less and less interest every Yuletide, but I kinda played myself because now my optimism is reawoken that surely this fandom is fresh and new enough that people will want it outside Yuletide as well, and they never do. (You may think getting into canons that were not just recent but actually fannishly popular might have been a better move, but apparently my fannish brain is just not up for that.)
I'm on the fence! There are some requests that RTMI but I don't know if I have any fic writing energy right now after expending a lot on Yuletide. I kind of want to focus on original fiction. But... there are some very nice prompts. Gah, I don't know. and the signup deadline is coming up!
