Come on, sb is a positive presence in the exchange space, helpful, friendly, leaves nice comments. And sb's fic is not at all the same as their art. Not really comparable.

I'm not a fan of their art but I don't think it's the same as Bean10's close your eyes, scribble without ever lifting the pencil, and then post style of fic.

I'd call them a spotty commenter at best. From the most recent 2 pages of gifts for them, they've commented on 24 works, left no comment or kudos on 7, and left a placeholder they never went back to on 1. And it looks like most of their long comments are for gifts from their friend (EdosianOrchids).

That's extremely misleading to the point of sounding like deliberate wank-stirring, because of the most recent 2 pages of gifts for them, most were posted in the past two weeks and all were posted in the past month. And of the 7+1 commentless/placeholder works you point out, 5 went live four days ago.

So like... I don't fully disagree with calling them a spotty commenter because it does look like they've got a few FIAB gifts and a D4D they haven't commented on and that's not great, but you're also making it sound way worse than it is. There's no way you went to dig up those numbers and failed to notice that most of those commentless ones are Yuletide Madness treats.

You're correct and I'm sorry for misrepresenting. I did not check the dates. Your comment made me check further back and it looks like everything on the next few pages has comments. Missing comments on a couple of gifts and a placeholder doesn't deserve to be called 'spotty at best' and I agree with more context that sounded wanky. They are friendly and helpful in chat. I would hate to get their art as a gift, as someone who requests art, so my BEC may be showing.
