I don't have a ton of sympathy because most of this could still be fixed by putting the fic into GDocs, letting the beta have edit access, asking them to fix capitalization/SPAG, and posting the result.

Yeah, "hitting shift physically hurts me" sucks and all, but is simply not an excuse for poor SPAG, especially with an (apparently assigned) beta.

It's because he was reincarnated into a cockroach and has to hop around the typewriter physically jumping onto the keys to type, have some charity, folks!


(more seriously, Archy the cockroach is why I really wouldn't want to have rules like "must use proper capitalization and at least some punctuation" for exchanges - Archy was a free verse poet so he would be opt-in for YT anyway, but there are some canons, some styles, and some authors who can pull it off, and banning legitimate stylistic things that some people find annoying is about two steps off from banning second person.) (And "must be able to write comprehensible English" is also a rule so I feel like they could already ban Bean if they wanted to.)

And I feel like "I can't press shift" has been a solved problem with accessibility features for a while now, hasn't it?

Yah, there are lots of people with chronic pain and other major disabilities doing exchanges and somehow they manage to produce legible gifts just fine.
