Because I would worry about what would happen if some fact was important to me but inconvenient to them. And just because I don't enjoy interacting with people who feel that ~saving face~ is important like that.

I don't think the mods are lying here, so it's not an issue for me. But participating in Yuletide and then yelling with no evidence that mods are lying is not behavior I find sympathetic. If you hate the people leading the game that much, just don't play.

Probably the insistence that they lie. Which speaks of disdain at least.
