Okay, but the different gender AU character sounds to be a canon character. So if you use that character, as their canon gender, that character has not been genderswapped in the fic, you have used a canon character canonically. Genderswapping is an action, not a trait. (lol though I feel the need here to say that if someone DNWs men and does not explicitly DNW genderswapping, so you genderswap canon men into women in order to write them in the fic, I also think you have violated their DNWs.)
