recip gave 2-3 sentences of very very general prompts, seemingly gen leaning. no mention of pairings or romance at all, no dnws. am i good in writing the femslashy idea i had or should i go gen

There can never be too much f/f.

Depends. Does the requester mostly read/write/request gen and no f/f, you want to write something they are most likely to like, and the f/f ship isn't canon? If yes to all three, then I'd go for gen. I would personally like there to be more femalash in the world but idk about your recipient.

I vote for the f/f. We need more of it, and this will teach them to list DNWs and write decent prompts if they don't want the author's first impulse.

Lol. "Write decent prompts", you're just pissy they aren't femslash prompts.

May you never receive f/f again.

"This will teach them to DNW things!" is basically spitefic. You get that, right?

Nah.

To write spitefic, OP would have to know what they don't want and give them that. "2-3 sentences of very very general prompts", no mention of pairings and no DNWs is so open-ended that as long as you stay near the prompts and don't throw extreme stuff in scat or declaws, I think it's a good faith attempt.

I mean if you’re happy to ODAO then nothing is stopping you, go ahead.

If you’re not happy to ODAO, then everything suggests they want gen, so I’d go with gen. It’s a matter of if you’re writing to tailor this to your recip or if you’re writing to have fun while fulfilling the technical requirements.

Personally I’d be unpleasantly surprised if I got ship fic in response to my gen prompts, but I do have the wherewithal to actually DNW ships, so it’s ultimately on this recip if they get unwanted f/f that they failed to DNW.
