I wonder what's keeping #13 from getting picked up. I guess all the fandoms are just more obscure than the average Yuletide fandom? Or Yuletide has a smaller pool of pinch hitters familiar with anime fandoms relative to other fandoms?

I found Jewelpet Happiness on Youtube - it's missing a few episodes, but it looks like one of their requested characters, Lapis, is only in episodes 33 (brief cameo) and episode 34 (full introduction). I might grab it but so far I haven't found a plot.

They ship Lapis/Sapphie (Sapphie is a main/supporting character who shows up in most/all episodes) but it sounds like they'd be happy with fluff featuring any of the characters. Sango, their third character, apparently shows up in 12 and 39.

Idk about the whole pool, but I'm a pinch hitter who writes in a lot of anime fandoms. I suspect for this one, it's just general obscurity. I haven't even heard of any of these series before, let alone have enough passing familiarity with them to pick up the pinch hit.

I know it's completely impractical but I kind of wish that if you are the very last initial pinch hit to be picked up in Yuletide, there could be a special pool of volunteers who try to consume your canons and make you extra things.

Can you imagine if it was someone like FC9 being the last one to get picked up? I guess that would be an encouragement to take them before that happened: pinch hitting out of sheer spite.

Of the three, I'm least familiar with Urara but with Aikatsu and Jewelpet they're both kids anime aimed towards the younger set that rely heavily on circulating fansubs (compare to the similar demographic Precure which has become easily accessible thru Crunchyroll). Aikatsu has had recent activity - just had a crossover movie with former rival PriPara - but Jewelpet as a franchise has been almost fully shoved aside by Sanrio and I imagine what's left of the fanbase there is small.

For me, I'm just not into recent anime of this sort... So I don't think the problem is anime in general, but more the type?

Same for me. I could do some of the older stuff but the new stuff mostly passes me by.
