It's the wrong adjective but when I see people use it in a fandom space, I mentally substitute in something like "in accordance with established best practice norms". If I have reason to take it in good faith, anyway. Yeah no one's getting paid for this shit but there's smart ways to do things that lead to better outcomes for everyone; that's all that matters.
