Genuinely, yes. I'm not in the exchange, nor am I a mod, and I have no idea what fic this was or who the recipient is. The details discussed here have been good about being vague enough.

I believe I found it by paying attention to minor details in the recipient's and other people's vague posts and clicking through a lot of fic. Which I just did because it's like a puzzle to me.
