Did you seriously believe before this thread that the various mods were not in communication with one another and were not sharing information and annoyance about various participants in their exchanges? There are a lot of things being handled in the back end, including talking to each other about problems, that mean issues are handled long before they affect everyone else. The mod server has been a known thing for ages. I'm not on it but I've known about it for years.

Sure, but being an optimist, I hoped that didn't include being unnecessarily nasty about participants who haven't done anything wrong, especially when it's someone the mods themselves admit has been doing exchanges for a while without causing trouble.

What is the point you're trying to make with this? That this is not new behavior? That makes it worse. You see how that's worse, right?

So you're saying I should have known that by singing up for exchanges I sign up to be scrutinized, psychoanalysed and ridiculed by the mod cabal?

Apparently more mods should be on coal and not on the discord. Do your scrutinizing, psychoanalysing, and ridiculing in the proper place!

To you and other people in the mod cabal, sure. Not regular participants. And there are even people here who say they're mods and never got invites, or never knew it existed.

Coalie you don't need permission. You can just start one. We know which one caused this convo, you can just start a competitor. The mod cabal doesn't actually control who gets to run exchanges.

We don't know the other 18 of them is my point.

....okay I will give you one piece of advice from my very limited experience as an exchange mod: don't try to start 19 at once.

It'd be nice to know which the other 18 were so that I can stop doing the OGs regardless of if people start schismed ones.

To be safe you should stop doing all exchanges that currently exist and only trust new ones that spring up from brand new mods you've ever heard of.
