Anyone currently working on a pinch hit or a treat, or trying to finish the extended director's cut of their fic to replace the abridged version they posted at deadline? How's it going?

I picked up this pinch hit and am now regretting my ~~life choices~~ entire plot premise I came up with. But it's definitely too late to start over, so I hope the recipient doesn't mind that this is, on reflection, a pretty dumb idea to base a whole story around.

I mean, to be fair, it's for a comedy canon, so having the characters all running round chasing their tails over something very silly and pointless is not in itself a major problem, I'm just looking back over my setup and going, "Hmm, on reflection, this kind of requires them to be extraordinarily dense about basic facts even by their standards." XD

+1 to picking up a pinch hit and regretting my life choices and plot decisions

...Still haven't finished it, tho.

I'm going to be writing treats for as close to the deadline as I possibly can! I have one half-done, and we'll see how things go after I wrap it up.

I have one more treat in progress. Possible these scenes will just be very different lengths, and...that's probably fine.

I have one fic that's almost finished (probably 300 words more) and another fic which is at the beginning of its penultimate scene. I hope to finish these.

I also have two fics which I started and got about 300-500 words in, which I doubt I will finish unless inspiration strikes, as I think I'd need to restructure my idea.

I also have a tiny ficlet I started as a Madness treat, which I hope to make something of as I had a thought based on something that two characters have in common, but I'm not sure how well it will turn out.

I thought I was done with everything yesterday. Then, another idea hit while I was looking at the app, so now I’m back at a blank screen trying to see if I can turn a vague story concept into a worthwhile treat in less than a week.

Working on a porny treat to go along with the plotty fic I wrote my recip. I'm not sure I'll get it done in time, because I'm pretty busy over the next week and I am not a fast porn writer, but I'm hopeful.

Hours staring at this pinch hit vainly trying to figure out the plot device needed to make this ending work, and I finally get an idea 15 minutes after I really should have gone to bed. Well, at least I should hopefully be able to finish this off tomorrow...

Just picked up a pinch hit. Want to finish a half-finished treat. Need to also revise my assignment. It'll be a real sprint to the finish line here.

I just managed to (irreversibly) delete/lose 3k of a threat.
I'm not rewriting it.

If by 'working' you mean 'meaning to get to it as soon as I have a minute to breathe', then yes!

I'm considering picking up a PH but during the creation period of Yuletide, this recip has already received a fic from me in this fandom filling a very similar prompt.

Maybe I'll write it as a treat and only claim if nobody's biting... That way they'll have an extra gift, and a bit of variety.

Posted my bus pass at deadline, dusted off my hands, thought "That'll do, pig."

Preparing to do edits today, I do a smidge more canon review. Turns out that I misremembered something! My fic is partly based on X happening, but instead Y happened! That WON'T do, pig!

Time to do some major surgery.

Just over here googling pictures of trees and comparing them to this screencap from a show that definitely wouldn't have had the budget to film in the right country anyway, hoping to avoid looking like a tree-blind fool to my one-person audience who may not actually even know anything about trees either, as is obviously a valuable and productive use of my very limited time left to get this treat finished.
