Sure, but there's conversational drift and then there's showing up to a comm that's silent 95% of the time, dropping a non-sequitur wank bomb not even tenuously related to anything ever talked about there, and expecting the mostly-silent people who are there for something else to spontaneously start discussing it for you.
I think the problem is that there is a sharp pro/anti-genocide divide and a sharp pro/anti-trans divide, but most people fall down on meh when it comes to one dude setting out to kill one rich immoral fuck and killing exactly that dude and nobody else, so it's unlikely to kick off a fuss.
No, the divide is sharper in my experience there too, I'm seeing a big difference between the "Free Luigi, hero of the people" and "All violence is bad, he's a murderer" that I honestly hadn't really expected.
