That honestly seems like the option that'll make your recipient quietly happiest too. If they look at it through rosier views than yours (ugh) they probably don't want to be reminded of the pervasiveness of the bigoted content. If they also review with dismay, they'll be glad you just preserved the dynamics and feeling they liked. If they wanted the bigoted content, they probably still wouldn't like the backlash from visibly embracing bigoted content.
