Because of timezones, the archive tends to open for me in the gap between the kids opening their presents and my having to start lunch, so I can usually comment pretty much immediately.
Length of a comment doesn't actually reflect how much someone liked it and it's very weird to judge whether or not something was worth doing based on the response you get.
